When to Wash Your Lash Extensions
Wash your lash extensions as often as needed; daily is recommended, even on days you don't wear makeup. Regular cleansing removes oil, dead skin cells, and product buildup at the lash line, which helps prevent premature lash loss and keeps the eye area healthy.
How to Clean Your Lash Extensions
1. Apply a pump of foam lash cleanser to your cleansing brush or directly to your lashes.
2. Gently work the cleanser into your lash line using small circular or downwards motions.
3. Rinse thoroughly with water to remove foam.
4. Dry using a fan or hairdryer on a cold setting, or gently pat dry with a clean paper towel.
Lash cleansing kits are available to purchase at your appointment, refills are also available, help care for the environment and bring your old foam pump bottle.
Daily Maintenance
Use your spoolie (provided at your appointment) to brush through your extensions every day. This keeps them separated and prevents tangling.
What to Avoid
-
Picking, pulling, or rubbing your extensions
-
Mascara, strip lashes, and lash curlers; these can weaken the lash bond and cause premature shedding
-
Tinting or lash lifts while wearing lash extensions
-
High heat and open flames; be cautious around ovens, smoking, and BBQs, as extensions can singe or burn
-
Oily products around the eye area, including cleansers, moisturisers, and makeup removers
-
Getting your lashes wet for the first 24 hours after your appointment
Sleeping With Lash Extensions
Try to sleep on your back where possible. Sleeping on your side can cause one side to fall out faster than the other, leading to uneven retention. If you are a face sleeper, consider getting a 3D sleep eye mask to help protect your lash extensions.
